Product Description
MANTOVA is a microcement based decorative plaster for interiors, for both flooring and walls.
Applied MANTOVA results in the world famous Beton Cirè waxed cement effect.
It´s strength and toughness make it the ideal product for the decoration of floors. In powder form, it is easily transportable and packaged in
humidity proof buckets, nor does it tame heat. It is possible to colour MANTOVA in several tones and shades, and can be applied in all set-ups. (See “APPLICATION”) Just add water.

For the interior the product can be applied to any type of wall surface and/or other supports properly prepared.
The high breathability allows it to be used even in the presence of humidity. In addition, thanks to its features, it can also be used in highly frequented places such as public walls.
Technical Features
Yield: 0,50-0,65m²/Kg
Application
Mix FONDO MANTOVA with 30-40% water until obtaining a well blended mix.
Apply 1 coat of FONDO MANTOVA evenly on the surface using a trowel and where necessary (surfaces greater than 2mq, corners, etc…) at the same time embed a fiberglass coating pressing the surface with a trowel.
After this operation the fiberglass should be encapsulated in FONDO MANTOVA. If needed apply a 2nd coat of FONDO MANTOVA.
Allow to dry well for 24-36 hours.
MANTOVA is diluted using water in the following manner: One 20Kg MANTOVA bucket + 8 litres water.
To obtain a well blended and uniform product without lumps, follow these instructions:
Pour 6-7 litres of water in a bucket.
Mix the chosen colour well in the water.
Gradually add MANTOVA (in powder) in the coloured water, mixing thoroughly by means of an electric mixer. Once blended, if needed, pour in the remaining water (1-2 litres) to obtain the desired consistency.
Apply the first coat of MANTOVA over the entire surface as for normal plasters, smoothing well the surface (as for a marmorino first coat).
Leave to dry for 12-24 h depending on temperatures before applying the second coat.
For a slightly glossy effect, smooth MANTOVA while the product is still wet, paying special attention to not leave imperfections.
If you wish to avoid the grey streaks left by the stainless steel trowel, use a plastic trowel instead
Leave to dry for 3-5 days, and if applied on floors, do not step during this period
APPLICATION OF THE PROTECTIVE COATING
Before proceeding to the application of the protective coat, make sure to sand the surface with a fine glass paper, or with abrasive paper. This is necessary to remove or refine any micro-granules that naturally can occur on the surface. This step is also essential to encourage the absorption of the protective coat.
Aspirate any dust that has formed after this operation.
Apply one coat of protective, ready to use, SCU using a short hair roller and, at the same time, with a sponge, rub the product applied on the surface. This will favor the absorption of MANTOVA. Alternatively it can be applied directly with a sponge, rubbing the product in a circular way on the surface so that the protective coating penetrates in all the pores of the surface.
Allow to dry for 12-24 hours according to temperature.
Proceed with the application of poliuretanico according to the desired effect: MATT, SATIN or HIGH GLOSSY. (See technical data sheet for more details)
Mix well the polyurethane compound that appears in BICOMPONENT format. Mix well using a mixer at a low speed .
The poliuretanico can be diluted with clean water at room temperature. In this case, dilute for the first coat from 10 to 20%. Mix well before use.
Then apply with short hair roller (or brush) and spread well making sure to apply it evenly on the surface.
To facilitate the preparation and uniform coverage of all the pores of the surface, apply the product to the surface by crossing it on each pass for several times. For example if you apply by roller, you can apply several vertical and horizontal rolls on the surface. This will favor the anchoring of the protective paint on MANTOVA.
Allow to dry 12-24 hours.
Apply a diluted 2nd coat with 10% water. Apply in the opposite direction to the first hand.
Allow to dry 48-72 hours according to the environmental temperature and humidity before using the surface.
In very humid environments (like SHOWERS etc.…) we recommend a third coat of poliuretanico.
WARNING: If over time, after finishing the work, some darker spots appear on the support, it means that the water is penetrating into some uncovered micropores. In this case, refine with glass-paper where the problem occurs, let it dry with the help of a electric drier and apply a further coat of poliuretanico.
APPLICATION ON TILES OR MARBLE
Even for tiles or marble you can proceed following the traditional application of the FONDO MANTOVA as described below.
If the surface is very shiny or smooth, we recommend refining the surface with a orbital flex. So to opacize and scratc the surface this would help the FONDO MANTOVA anchorage.
WALL PROTECTION
To protect MANTOVA applied to other environments (not in showers or very humid environments) alternatively to the poliuretanico, apply the POLISHING WAX:Apply with the stainless steel trowel and polish the surface with a cotton cloth to obtain a semi-glossy effect .
To protect MANTOVA in a more resistant way, apply the poliuretanico, a bicomponent polyurethane compound, according to the desired effect (MATT, SATIN or HIGH-GLOSSY)
APPLICATION OF MANTOVA IN SHOWERS (or in environments with continuous contact water):
In this case, please CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER who will certify a specific cycle for the work.
